Sponsored Scholars
Beginning with the 2012 Ed Brennan Memorial Golf Tournament, individuals and businesses will have the opportunity to identify a student as their own "sponsored scholar." In press releases and newsletters, this student will always be recognized as the Sponsored Scholar of the individual or business participating in the program.
The Sponsored Scholar will be given an additional $500 during their first year receiving a Founders Fund scholarship. The sponsor will receive 2 tickets to the Biennial Golf Tournament and dinner, as well as invitations to luncheons and other events honoring the Fund students.
To be part of the program, businesses will be asked to contribute $5,000 during the event year. Individuals will be asked to contribute $2,500 during the event year and also the off year. This Sponsored Scholar funding will support 2 students, 1 each year of the 2-year obligation. Sponsors and scholars may develop a personal relationship outside of planned Founders Fund events but are not obligated to do so.
NAMED SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
Two new categories giving the
opportunity to offer scholarships named for the donor have been added to
sponsorship options for the 2012 Event.
FOUNDERS FUND SPONSORED SCHOLARSHIPS - (Example: 'John Jones' sponsored scholar) - a $5000 donation will fund a scholarship of $2500 for each of two years. Founders Sponsored Scholars, selected on academic merit, will receive a scholarship for $2500 instead of the standard $2000.
FOUNDERS SCHOLARSHIP WITH DISTINCTION - (Example: 'ABC Corporate' scholarship of distinction) - a $10,000 commitment will finance a Founders Fund student who has the best high school academic record with $2500 per year for four years of college.
